This additional nickel content prevents the cylinder head from cracking in between the valves. Additionally, the coolant passages have been enlarged by 30%, and inner ribs have been reinforced to reduce heat stress. This cylinder head is the top-shelf item for your Caterpillar 3406E/C15 Engine. This super duty cylinder head, similar to the stage 2 and 3 heads, is loaded with exhaust AND intake upgraded inconel valves.
